Dr. Cindy Bennett has been named principal at The Lee Middle School to replace Dr. Bob Heaberlin who is retiring at the end of the current school year. Dr. Bennett has served as an assistant principal at Lee for the past five years. During her tenure as assistant principal, Dr. Bennett was the instructional leader that helped make the transition from the Georgia Performance Standards to the Common Core Curriculum. With her guidance in curriculum at LMS, the students’ CRCT scores improved each of the past five years. Dr. Bennett also implemented the Positive Behavior Intervention System and the Way of the Wolf Character Education Program that improved discipline at The School of Champions™. In 2011 she was named the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) National Outstanding Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year for 2011-2012. Dr. Bennett has also received numerous leadership awards from the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL) and the Georgia Association of Middle School Principals (GAMSP).
