Jason White - 8th grade History

I attended Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw , Georgia where I graduated in the fall of 2002 with a degree in Social Science Education, grades 6-12. In August 2007 I received my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State University- via the online learning environment.

At the beginning of the 2003-2004 school year, I had the pleasure of being added as a full-time teacher at Sequoyah High School in Canton , Georgia , as a certified Interrelated Special Education Teacher(K-12). I stayed at Sequoyah through the 2004-2005 school year as part of a faculty that was distinguished as a Georgia School of Excellence in Academic Achievement, and a National Blue Ribbon Winner. I had the pleasure of teaching American Government, Economics , United States History, and Sociology. I coached the 9th Grade baseball and the County Champion Junior Varsity fastpitch softball teams as the Head Coach. In 2005-2006 I moved to Coweta County and have enjoyed my teaching experience at Smokey Road Middle School , where I have taught 8th grade literature and greatly enjoyed the experience. Last year I began teaching 8th grade Georgia History as I moved back into my area of passion – HISTORY- where I enjoy teaching children about the workings of the past and it's continuing effects on today. I also serve as the Social Studies department head in an effort to increase global awareness on important issues that face our world, by increasing the education our students receive on a daily basis. I have as well coached the Junior Varsity baseball team at Newnan High School.

In November 2004 I got married to my wife and we currently live in Villa Rica, GA, where I make my half hour commute daily to and from work. I look forward to continuing my teaching career at SRMS where we truly Strive to Reach and Motivate Students.
