I have over thirty years of teaching experience. I have taught 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grades. Because my husband was in the military, I have had the opportunity to teach in schools in the states of California, Colorado, Maine, and Maryland and in military schools in the countries of Belgium and the Netherlands.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary/Middle School Education at the University of Maine and my Master's Degree in Education at Bowie State University in Maryland.

My husband, Jim, and I got married in 1970. We had two daughters, Amy, who was born in Maine,  and Amanda, who was born in Belgium.

My oldest daughter, her husband, and their three children live at Camp LeJeune in North Carolina.

My youngest daughter, her husband, and their two children live here in Newnan. This was my big tug to leave Maine and move here. The cold winters of Maine were also involved in this decision.

I have been teaching at Smokey Road Middle School since 2006.
