I am originally from South Bend , Indiana and moved down here to teach at Smokey Road .  I have previously been an elementary teacher, and before that, I was a paraprofessional in a middle school.  I graduated from college in 2002 and then went back to college in 2005 because I wanted to become a teacher.  I finished my certification and Master's in Education at the same time.  My undergraduate degree is in English Literature.

I am also the volleyball coach at Smokey Road .  The sport of volleyball is very important to me because I think it teaches valuable life lessons of teamwork, work ethic, and perseverance.  I have played volleyball since I was in middle school.  I went on to play in high school and earned a four year scholarship to play volleyball in college.  I was the head coach at Mishawaka High School in Indiana for several seasons before I moved here.  We won 54 matches and only lost 17 when I was the coach there.  I look forward to instilling pride and a winning tradition into our volleyball team here at SRMS.
